about

Krrchh! Begin of Transmission. Welcome to Radio Tijuana...

The discovery of the possibilities of a 4-track device awakened a completely new personality in the then 26-year-old Andreas Staebler. Until then, the stylistically exceptional guitarist in his band InPalumbia had been responsible for noise outbursts of often considerable volume. In his own four walls in front of the Tascam recorder he now discovered the power of quieter sounds - which would not necessarily have to be less noisy because of this.

In the meantime, folk music influences from all over the world found their way into his music, and amplified by his up to ten Hermanos Patchekos, G.Rag has also become a great live experience. You think I exaggerate? I do not.

Recorded with the Hermanos Patchekos in Christoph "Babyface" Nowosad's living room, 'Radio Tijuana' features about half of his own songs, including the fantastically swinging "(No Time) Toulouse". The other half of the material consists of the Patchekos' favourite songs, whereby genre boundaries are nonchalantly ignored. Besides Hank Williams and Woody Guthrie, Tom Waits and the post-punk legends Fugazi and Girls vs. Boys also experience a special Patcheko treatment.

Don't worry, this is no lofi. This is Dolby Surround. Relaxation and dance music in one. By the way, the LP version comes in an individually hand-printed silkscreen cover and is limited to 500 copies (sold out).
