about

Pain Perdu, the sixth (regular) album of the Munich Caribbean (or rather mediterranean) Trash Orchestra: 10 songs, which, by the way, go down the following genre stations: Cumbia, Swamp-Pop, Desert-Folk, Punk-Rock, Gipsy-Swing, Musette. Somehow. Or is it?

As usual in a 11-piece line-up, recorded as live as possible with trash drums, double bass, 3-piece brass section (trumpets, flugelhorn, tenor horn, trombone, melodica), many string instruments (guitars, banjo, slide), lots of percussion and a new man on accordion. Thank heavens!

Sounds banal now. But the eleven gentlemen, who worked until recently on the score for further episodes of the TV Series "München 7" ("Musik für München 7 Vol. 3" on Gutfeeling Records was released on April 11th), are going straight from quiet work to free play…

An example for this joy of playing is again a cover version from the HC/Punk-History. After Fugazi, the Big Boys, Black Flag, Girls Against Boys and NoMeansNo, this time the legendary Minutemen get the Patcheko treatment: Their "King of the Hill" fits like a glove. First of all you have to dare and secondly you have to be able to.

G.Rag y los Hermanos Patchekos do NOT reinvent themselves on Pain Perdu - why should they? The tricks & tricks, twists and turns, good and bad habits, learned in the last 12 years, are consolidated and compressed on Pain Perdu. From the beginning the aim was to throw a classic patcheko album on the market, an album that represents the one PATCHEKO-LIVE-SHOW as good as possible:

Therefore as live as possible, as few overdubs as necessary.
No bullshit.
That's it.
